Overview

The Funner-Tiddlywinks loop is an amazing ride, in either direction. The most common route is up Funner and down Tiddlywinks. I recommend riding the loop in both directions as there are features of the trail that will be missed if you only ride it one way. New uphill routes have been added to both trails to accommodate the faster downhill sections.

Description

Start is from the unofficial 'green gate' parking turnout off of Cascade Lakes Highway (identified with 'P' symbol on the GPS track). Ride on the highway, and very soon look for the Storm King trail access to your left (no sign). This will lead you to the Funner-Tiddleywinks junction, head straight to access Tiddlywinks.

Tiddlywinks is a sweet, smooth trail, gradually gaining the elevation you'll lose descending Funner. As you ride up, you'll want to ride it in reverse too. After ~5 miles, you'll exit the forested trail into a level-ish clearing. There are a few technical rock sections, mostly doable. If I didn't already say it, it hurts to fall in the lava rock sections....they are sharp rocks that leave nasty scars on your body. After ~7 miles, you finish Tiddlywinks, cross the Wanoga Parking lot and continue on Funner. Get ready!

From the Wannoga Trailhead, ride the impeccably smooth, flowing trail. After ~2 miles, you'll embark on some of the super great rocky sections. More flow, then a skinny log ride or two, if you desire. Funner is 4.5 miles of fun. Mid-way through Funner, you reach a good amount of rocky technical and 3-4 big drops. In general, if you take the 'lefts' on Funner, it gets more technical, bigger drops. Hence, the 'rights' usually lead to an easier option. There are some serious drops on Funner....you might want to take a look at some before launching!

Funner ends at the intersection of Storm King and Tiddlywinks. Go left to access Storm King and get to your car. Head to one of the many breweries in Bend.

Alternate ride start from Wanago Sno-Park.

Took a short cut because puppy Koa got tired. Long, steady uphill. A little bit of everything. Very fun downhill. 11.5mi

The way up was relatively dry, but tiddlywinks was soaked coming down. Still a great ride! 13.4mi — 1h 45m
