Overview

This was an old school chunky downhill trail, but was destroyed by fire several years ago. It has been rebuilt for Fall 2020.It was rebuilt into a modern alpine flow trail. The map includes the fire road return to the shuttle location. If you include the short segment on the Sidney Peaks Trail, and the last section on the fire road it's 12ish miles. The last 5 miles to the shuttle drop is on a fire road, but it's actually fun. It's all downhill with several stream crossings with great views.

Need to Know

You can arrange a shuttle at Brian Head Resort. It's a short shuttle up to Brian Head Peak and they pick you up at the pavement at the bottom. You can also self-shuttle.

Description

This was a black diamond old school chunky downhill trail, but was destroyed by fire several years ago. It has been rebuilt in 2020, and is now a blue level modern alpine flow trail.

It's one of the courses in the Utah Gravity Mountain Bike Race Series. There are spectacular mountain vistas and beautiful red rock cliffs. The last five miles go from singletrack to doubletrack and finally to pavement. Don't be bummed about the doubletrack in this description. It is fast and fun.

How many trails are there that start above timberline and end in a red rock canyon? This is a beautiful place.
