Description

After a savage climb up the A-Basin Ski resort to the top of the Montizuma lift you'll wonder why you let your friend talk you into this ride. Once you hit Peru Creek Road you'll be thinking "Totally worth it, let's do it again!"

From the Montizuma lift climb the trail that is to the south of the lift. It's well ridden. The top section is alpine rocks and very exposed. The rock gardens are actually well built and ride-able. Walk them if you are unsure. After rock gardens is open flowy trails. Once you drop below tree line the rock gardens come back. There are a couple sniper rocks to watch for. The trail gets steep, fast and technical. A lot of roots, some always muddy and wet. A lot of rocks.

Can be ridden as a loop starting and ending in the Keystone parking lot.

As always watch for hikers! Watch out for afternoon storms!

Once you make it down to this meadow, the trail mellows out for a bit and amazing great views.

Looking back on the initial descent. Be careful, a fall here could be disastrous.

Some sections of brilliance. Some drawn out serious old school jank. Not the best DH run by any means, but an epic descent non the less.

Mileage is Lenawee to peru creek road. I was told a 29er and wearing pads would be helpful. I can see why. Stay Alert the entire time! 3.3mi — 0h 31m
