Overview

This is go to after work ride if you are looking for a steady uphill fire road climb followed by a very rewarding fast flowy downhill. It's not terribly technical on the downhill, but there are a few sections that the less experienced rides may have to dismount on.

Description

From the Las Llajas trailhead, on Evening Sky Drive, follow the fireroad by taking a right hand turn at both forks you'll encounter. Once you reach the top of the fireroad you'll continue downhill for about 3/4 of a mile and encounter a short climb that takes you to the Chumash Trail located on the right. The Chumash trailhead is marked by a wooden sign. Here's where the hard work is left behind and the fun begins.

Head down the fast and flowy, mildely technical in spots, singletrack until the trail starts to widen at the very end. You want to take the singletrack to the gate which will dump you out onto Evening Sky Drive. Once there follow the road back to the Las Llajas trailhead. If you happened to miss the singletrack you'll arrive at the Chumash Trail, just turn around and look for the singletrack to the left and you'll be headed the right way.

The park access from the Las Llajas trailhead has been regraded and widened to the top, lots of loose dirt
