A loop around the Frisco Peninsula perimeter, following the shoreline of Dillon Reservoir. Perfect lunch ride.
Begin on Lakeshore Perimeter
Trail at the northwest end of Water Dance Drive. Ride east on Lakeshore Perimeter
along the edge of the Dillon Reservoir. Ride clockwise along the lakeshore all the way around a small peninsula where the trail swings to the south to a paved campground road. Turn left onto the road, and look for the singletrack on the left side of the road between campsite 70 and 68. Ride this to another paved parking lot.
Ride north through the parking lot to the exiting roadway and look for the Lakeshore Perimeter
on the left side of the road at a marker post. Follow the shoreline passing a trail intersections on the right with Olympian's Link
almost immediately, then after passing the northern tip of the Peninsula, a second right turn with Crown Point-Lakeshore Connector
. There are markers these junctions.
Continue south, along the eastern edge of the Peninsula all the way to Dickey Day Use Area parking area and gravel cul-de-sac off of Highway 9. This is also a great alternative trailhead for the loop. This is the end of Lakeshore Perimeter
Ride the dirt road towards Highway 9. Take Dickey Trail
on the right. Take a left on Buzzsaw
at the first junction. There is only an uphill facing sign for Dickey Trail
at this junction. Buzzsaw
parallels the highway, rolling over a few stiff climbs and descents, the last of which is quite loose and steep.
After topping out, descend through a dirt area out to a paved bike path adjacent to Crown Point Road
. Turn left towards the highway and cross to one of the Frisco Bike Park downhill lines on the west side of Recreation Way and return to the parking lot.
Note: the Frisco Bike Park Singletrack
climbs to the north of the downhill lines across the tubing hill. Climb this to Recreation Way if riding this loop counter clockwise.
