The Blankets Creek ride is a full tour of the Blankets Creek trail network going generally in a counter-clockwise direction. Expect a variety of experiences here from gravity and flow to old school, technical singletrack.

To round out the trails, there is also a skills area near the trailhead. Head right on Mosquito Flats to find it.

Need to Know

The direction for Mosquito Bite, Van Michael, Dwelling Loop and South Loop changes daily. Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri are to the left (clockwise). Tue, Thurs and Sat are to the right (counter-clockwise).

Quehl Holler is downhill only.

Blankets Creek is multi-use and hikers will be traveling in the opposite direction of mountain bikers.

Ride out on Mosquito Flats to the right and then bear right again on Van Michael, the newest trail at Blankets Creek. There are plenty of ups and downs connected by a lot of mountain bike optimized flow. It's definitely a good way to the start the entire Blankets route. Highlights on this loop include The Gravity Cavity (a fast rolling section of singletrack that whips you through rollers and bermed turns) and Kevorkian Pass (a steep, armored section of trail that has an incredible view of Allatoona Lake).

At the end of Van Michael, continue of Mosquito Bite to the four way intersection. Bear right to cross the creek and pass the bottom of Quehl Holler. Dwelling Loop starts just beyond here. Enter the trail on the right.

Dwelling Loop is a great intermediate trail with longer, mellow climbs and descents. The route has a more open corridor with a few tight tree gates. The route is fairly smooth with some roots and a few rocks. Riders will get into a good rhythm following the contour of the hillside above Allatoona Lake.

When finished with Dwelling Loop, pedal behind the big wooden wall ride to catch Shultz's Chute. Continue up to South Loop from here.

South Loop is a yet another unique experience at Blankets Creek. It's a bit rough around the edges and definitely feels like 'old school' singletrack. Stay to the right to continue with the counter-clockwise direction of travel.

The part of the ride starts and ends with tight sections in the dense pines. Throughout the loop there are plenty of short punchy climbs complemented by challenging rocks and roots. It's the kind of trail that keeps you on your toes and dancing on your pedals the entire way through.

You'll exit South Loop very close to the the start. Now for the finale!

Roll up to the top of Quehl Holler and get ready for a quick hit of gravity. Here you'll find berms, rollers and a giant wooden wall ride. Be mindful of your speed and bike handling here - getting up in the air is very possible here.

After a few sessions on Quehl Holler, finish the Blankets Creek ride by heading out to the four-way intersection and bearing right on Mosquito Flats for an easy pedal back to the trailhead.
