Hemlock is a predominantly gravel doubletrack with a broad open corridor that's lined with deciduous trees. As the trail climbs, it slowly begins to become narrower; starting with road, then doubletrack, and finally singletrack at the top. Hemlock offers a more moderate, or at least less constant, climb than the
North Lost Lake Trail.
Hemlock is even better on the way down. The trail starts with a level pedal through open woods before feeding into flowy singletrack. The scenery is probably still good after that, but when the doubletrack takes over it's hard to focus on much else but the speed.
