After the brutality of
Halls Ranch Trail this is the payoff! It is flowy in a kind of weird way because it is kind of a motorcycle trail in its origins.
But it sees light Moto use so it's not all thrashed and troughed out. It is primitive, under maintained, and overgrown in spots, but thats the fun part. There are loose switchbacks and some exposure, but most of it floats through dense forest canopy and is a nice piece of trail. A few steep grunts on the way down, sometimes those are hike-a-bikes depending on my "winter layer" and/or trail conditions.
It is different from most other local trails. The "moto" factor is obvious on this one. Some folks climb it as an out-and-back and I hurt just thinking about it.
Halls Ranch Trail is steep, but it is over before you have serious cardiac overload. Climbing up the Fiddle Creek Ridge Trail just never ends, and starts out ok, so it leads you to believe it's all good....
