Description

Riding up the Haines Canyon Motorway, there are several points to access this descent: Mount Lukens Bailout, Sister Elsie Spur, where Haines Canyon Motorway crosses the trail or for the highest point, the Old Mt. Lukens Trail. While the Sister Elsie Trail technically starts another mile and a half above the bottom of the Old Mt. Lukens Trail, it does not do so in any way that is meaningful for bikes. That section of trail is an overgrown path that does not look to have ever been set up for biking, so it's probably not a great idea.

Once on the trail, you'll find a well built descent with plenty of nice features. Many jumps and gaps are easy to spot landings for as you ride, but others (especially some of the drops) should definitely be scouted first, as there are sometimes landings you must get to, and sometimes not. None of the jumps are mandatory, and the descent is still fun (though probably not quite as awesome) for riders who aren't into that.

The bottom of Haines canyon. This is right as you drop into the jump line. The burms and jumps have all been recently cleaned up (11/08/21), and a few new features have been added
