The singletrack trails in the Molalla Recreation Corridor are closed to bikes and horses when the trails are wet, and also between October 15 and April 15 every year. The doubletrack is open year-round. Singletrack trails are marked as "Seasonal" on signs.

Description

A favorite trail among riders, the Rim Trail is fun and is a great workout. Despite having a lot of hills, the climbs are never very bad and the forest is very pretty to ride through. Much of the trail skirts the border between private land and BLM land, so be mindful of those borders.

Starting from the doubletrack that links the southern Molalla Recreation Corridor trails with the northern trails, the Rim Trail immediately heads south. After some lengthy climbs, the trail will start to mellow out a little.

Briefly turning into gravel doubletrack, the trail climbs some more before needling back into the forest on tight singletrack. Be careful, as the trail very abruptly plummets down a very steep and loose gulley to cross an unnamed spring. Only the most confident of riders will want to attempt this section. Even then, the similarly nasty climb back up the other side will really test your bike skills. No shame in pushing!

Some narrow singletrack eventually brings the trail to its close at the junction with the doubletrack, Bobcat Trail, and the beautiful and fun descent down Red Vole Trail.
