Easy access by Santa Clara, UT. Great fast flow sections with minimal steep grade of climbing. The gulch runs are fun towards the end. There is a split option at the end the runs closer to the base of the mesa. A simple return to the start of that section will give you both sections and worth the time and effort!
From the parking lot, you immediately begin a 1 mile climb up a jeep road. You'll navigate to the gate to begin your first descent with degree of difficulty options and drops. The signs are well marked with green, blue, black etc. Once you complete through the cascade of drops, you'll come to a junction with the Bloomington Microloop
which is smooth, fast, and fun as you follow a wood fence line. Again, pick and choose your line, as there are many. You'll hardly pedal in many sections as you continue downhill! Once at the end you'll see return signs to begin an easy 2% grade back up to the start and junction area. At this point, you can choose to repeat the Bloomington Microloop
or take the left fork out on a longer loop called Stucki Springs Trail
This will start slowly climbing up and down as you make your way out to it's farthest point. The climbing is a bit deceiving as the open mesa is so vast. You'll find the turn point with a short, steep, punchy climb. Great views of everything! Once you continue the loop, you'll begin a long and fast run. Watch for dips as they come up fast on your descent. There will be short steep punchy climb about half way, but only to continue more fast singletrack. Once it starts to mellow out, look for a right turn to take you back to the junction area of Bloomington Microloop
. After you take the right, here is where you can decide to ride low in the gulch or ride a level up along the mesa. Both are fast and fun—no bad decision, but might get you to circle back to take the other option.
You'll then retrace your ride back up the cascade of drops, but there is signs for the easy way up. Remember, you get the mile descent back to your car!
