Overview

Awesome loop that will take you across all different types of terrain. I am a moderate rider and I find it to be heart pumping and also fun.

The Dirty Bismark is fun and this path adds a bit of a cool downhill section that leads to Walker Ranch, too. Five separate places to park and jump into this loop. There is even a bathroom roughly halfway through if you go the route I traced.

Need to Know

You can ride this on a gravel bike but probably more fun with fatter tires and better suspension. If this is your first attempt at riding, start elsewhere. Once you start this loop, turning back is less fun.

Description

Starting at the parking lot (has bathroom) you go up a nice little hill that gets the blood flowing and kicks you into your climbing gears. From there, you peacefully ride towards the mountains before dropping down a steep descent with minor roots and little jumps. A hairpin turn and you drop into the valley.

The valley ride has some rocks gardens and mostly mild terrain following a little creek/river until you get to Spring Brook Loop fork (up the trail is additional parking and a bathroom). Continue on to Community Ditch and you'll get to ride some fun, flowy downhill sections through mostly singletrack flat terrain. Take that to 66th Street and the trail crosses over to continue a decent ride east until you hit an uphill section including some switchbacks. Follow that up until you come to a long straight section that includes a large steep ascent that, to be frank, sucks if you're not prepared for it in the middle of this long ride.

Once you're past the hill, you face many smaller rock gardens and flowy singletrack along the mild climb and falls adjacent to Highway 128. A jagged rock garden and tricky little trail is at the finish line before you cross back over Highway 93 to complete the loop.

History & Background

A section of this trail used to be a race circuit I think (the Dirty Bismark sections).
