Need to Know

Trails are open all year round except occasional closures for school functions.

Description

The ride starts from the gravel lot adjacent to the baseball field. Traverse the mellow Chesley Creek Loop trail to the right out of the lot and all the way around to the intersection with Twin Lakes (look out for the extra challenge skinnies along the way).

Takie a right onto Twin Lakes and then another right onto Dean's Loop. Bear right on doubletrack and around a gate to get to the gravel road (Brokenback Mountain Rd). Brokenback Mtn is a steep gravel climb that provides access to Brokenback Mtn fire road as a left turn at a hunters development. Be courteous and follow the doubletrack for a short distance before taking a left on Ridgeline.

Ridgeline is tight and steep as it descends back into the BRS network. At the second fork (it's easy to miss the first) bear right on Bryson Hollow and stay straight to connect into Senior Rock. Continue flowing downhill through the four-way intersection onto Twin Lakes (south).

At the end of Twin Lakes, take a left on to Chelsea Creek and flow around to the intersection to Lawrence Lane. Take a left onto the pavement and continue straight into the Old Cross Country singletrack climb.

Old Cross Country intersects with McFarlane where you head left on McFarlane to the intersection with Moonshine. Climb Moonshine almost all the way to the top - look for the Top Shelf sign near a gravel/rock clearing.

Bear right and climb on tight bench-cut singletrack with multiple rock gardens on Top Shelf until you begin to flow downhill with a hard right hand berm. Take Top Shelf down until a hard right hand turn onto Copperhead. Look out for a technical tree skinny followed by a four-foot rock drop and wood/rock features as it flows on rocky technical downhill into the second half of Senior Rock again.

At the same four-way intersection, this time go right on Crawford Hollow and climb up and bear right with a tight switchback on to the other side of McFarlane. Climb McFarlane back to Moonshine and this time climb it all the way to the top past Top Shelf. At this point, turn around and descend flowy berm-filled bliss on Moonshine but stay right after the rock garden to transition into Foreshot.

Foreshot is the tightest and steepest descent of the day as it drops off the east side of the mountain. Watch for a steep hard right hand turn with a cliff on the left side. After you drop off Foreshot, stay right to transition into the rocky, mostly downhill, far side of Crawford Hollow. Pedal hard through the tech and pick up more flow down hill as you stay right onto Panorama. Tight singletrack opens up into a field with two fun rocks to boost and an open field follow by singletrack through an old car frame.

Panorama dumps you out onto the bottom of Chesley Creek Loop where you head right and cross pavement to take the singletrack back around campus to your car.
